This past weekend was my College Homecoming, in Atlanta. And guess where I was… in Brooklyn, New York, watching the fun via Instagram. It’s still shocking that I wasn’t in Atlanta, because I vowed to attend every Homecoming until “THE WHEELS FALL OFF.” To page homage to Homecoming weekend, I wore my favorite CAU sweatshirts, and t-shirts. I watched youtube videos about Atlanta, and flipped through an old yearbook.
I’ve admitted I’m obsessed with Clark Atlanta University and Homecoming… and this is how I know:
- I have all paraphernalia from Freshmen year saved and stored safely under my bed. (Even a few flyers from parties I attended)
- I refer to Homecoming weekend as a Holiday
- About a month ago I teared up when it was confirmed I wouldn’t make Homecoming this year
- I would love for my fiance to propose to me on the eve of Homecoming (I HATE holiday engagements, it’s my #1 pet peeve)
- I am obsessed with “Ladies of the AUC” youtube video. Although it was shot in the 80s, I can totally relate to every word in this song. The visual is an added benefit! (Press Play and Enjoy!)
Mannnn, I’m sad this is the last season of Boardwalk Empire. Even with the deaths of some of my favorite characters, I still watch faithfully every Sunday night. It’s so draining to find great shows with great story lines these days, and I’m not ready to let Boardwalk Empire go.
But, one thing I am not sad about, is the amazing women’s fashion, and hair. From head to toe, every woman in season 5 was stunning. I mean, even Gillian Darmody who has been in jail for 6 years looked great.
Margaret Thompson- Wavy Bob
Margaret Thompson- Wavy Bob
Sally Wheet- Half Moon/French Red Polish Manicure
Gillian Dormody- Short Bob
Gillian Dormady- Short Red Bob
Sally Wheet- Bitch is BAD
Sally Wheet- Blonde Short Bob, White Suit
Fashion in the 1930s for women was feminine, it was glamour and glitz. Shorter hair, in a bob style was a huge change from long locks.
These women did it right, and I am OBSESSED… BOB SEASON is here!
:: Sally Wheet, played by Patricia Arquette, KILLED everything that was placed on her back. Every look, every accessory… everything about her character was great. I’m already missing her! ::
It’s finally HERE. The bucket bag of my dreams… the MANSUR GAVRIEL.
I still can’t believe there was a legit 6 month waiting list for this bag. The only way to get your hands on this bag was to know someone in a very high place (which i did not), be added to a wait list, or pre- order from a MG Stockist (which I did).
I have never pre- ordered anything other than an iPhone. So the thought of paying for something that I wouldn’t physically have for 6 months, almost gave me a heart attack. But, because my obsession’s take over my life, I did it.
Today, I have this amazing large black bucket with metallic gold lining, and to say I am obsessed, is an understatement. Not only are bucket bags my signature purse, but GOLD will forever be my first LOVE.
To find your Mansur Gavriel Bag… here are the Stockist located in USA & Canada:
IRA MAE CLARK, was born in 1929, to a single mother of three, and recently deceased father. To me she is one of God’s most precious creations. She has the heart of gold, and the most beautiful spirit of anyone I know.
Because I was interested in my family history, I asked my grandmother about her childhood, including her brothers, and father I never knew. She didn’t know much, mainly because her father passed shortly before she was born, and her mother relocated her and three siblings from a small town in Wrightsville Georgia, to Philadelphia Pennsylvania.
This made my imagination go wild. Just the idea of not knowing, and what could BE. I told my grandmother I would find the missing links to her family tree, and any other family she may have and not know about.
I know this will be a hard task due to the limited knowledge of her family tree. However, I am so excited to get any information I can, and share with my grandmother.
Follow along as I find IRA MAE CLARK.
